Tomato - the perfect food

I love food. I love to cook. I even designed my house around my perfect idea of a country kitchen.
I've wowed my own group of folks with some culinary delights who will gladly come back anytime I volunteer to 'cook dinner'. No recipe is to complex or deters me from testing new ideas.
No less - my favorite, Rick's too, is simple rosemary lamb chops grilled rare and served with red wine reduction, roasted baby new potatoes, breaded asparagus sauted in garlic and mushrooms.

So... what do I love most. Vine ripe tomatoes, sliced with a little sea salt and pepper. I usually just eat the whole thing by itself or maybe with a sliced avocado. Simple.
~ basically the one fruit I'd hate to live without.

I've had a great many 'mators this year with the blessing of a lot of rain and sunshine.

Standing in the garden on early Saturday mornings, eating my fill on the cherry ones; washed by God and bursting like sunshine in my mouth - one at a time - is like a small piece of heaven. I hope I get to tend a garden when I get there. vlm

Flowers

I have many (putting it very mildly) pictures of the flowers, trees, shrubs and vegetation.
Some are favored more than others... but no less valuable in the lens of a camera and my imagination.

Observations in the Hill Country

ish
Yes, it's another boring vacation picture of nothing in particular... well, ok - it's a tree and a rock...
look closer.

I want to go back and finish my unfinished explore...
except Rick says we have to retire first because it will take me at least ... oh, I don't know.... 50 years to finish seeing all that I didn't get to.

Off the beaten path is always the best.

Cambrie turns ONE

What a fun, fun, fun day celebrating with the grandparents, aunts & uncles (and great-ones :) cousins and friends.
Mel, Jed, Celton, Mel's Mom, sister, brother from Dallas, Patsy, Wayne, Dena, Alex, Angelica, Bret & gal-pal, JT, Timothy, Ricky and me.
Best way to celebrate an almost 4th July birthday... have it on the 3rd. Gather everyone up at our house with all kinds wet stuff, little pool with tunnel-tube thingie, water balloons & guns, cake, dips & chips, and watermelon. End it all with lots of fireworks and I think Cambrie, friends and family had the best birthday ~ well, her 1st one anyway.

Cambrie's Tails

This is just too adorable not to share.
